Are you still in the era of isolation transformer?

An isolation transformer is a transformer used to transfer electrical power from a source of alternating current power to some equipment or device while isolating the powered device from the power source, usually for safety reasons or to reduce transients and harmonics.

The three main reasons to use Isolation transformer: 

  • Short circuit reduction at the input side. 
  • Continuous neutral supply at the load side during the unavailability of neutral from the source side  
  • To protect the UPS from the load harmonics

The main reasons to use Isolation transformer: 

  • Battery earthing point will be used as neutral for the load. 
  • By using IGBT technology we can reduce the harmonics at the input level 

Adopting modern IGBT technology is advisable due to greater efficiency and compact size. It not only minimizes inrush current but also supports environmentally sustainable practices, making it a green and effective choice.
