Net Zero Energy Building
Water efficiency
- The building is 100% water self-sustainable, with no reliance on municipal water supply
- A rainwater harvesting system with a 600,000-liter capacity is in place to meet all water needs, ensuring full water sustainability
Energy efficiency
- Natural ventilation is achieved through the stack effect, promoting passive cooling and reducing HVAC demand
- The building uses 100% renewable energy through solar PV, achieving a net positive energy status with a rated solar capacity of 42 kW peak
- East and West windows are oriented south to have easier sun control through shading devices
- East and west windows are oriented south to optimize sun control, supported by shading devices to minimize heat gain
- Solar chimneys on the south facade aid ventilation in passive zones, enhancing the building’s natural airflow
- Courtyard misting cools the ambient air, which is drawn into the building through solar chimneys, maintaining internal relative humidity (RH) between 60% and 75%
Energy performance
- The overall energy performance index is 15 kWh/m²/year, significantly lower than the conventional design standard of 75 kWh/m²/year
