Water
The project is completely water self-sustainable, with systems in place to manage its water needs independently.
- Recycled water is used to irrigate plants and herbs on the roof, promoting water conservation and sustainable landscaping
Energy
- The main exhibition space is housed under the world’s largest bamboo dome, with a nearly 35-meter diameter. The structure is made from 36 arched compound ribs, each with six interconnected bamboos and eight bamboo horizontal rings, all crafted from Moso bamboo
- An herb-roofed indoor space is designed with low-level air conditioning, enhancing energy efficiency while providing a natural cooling effect
- Carved terracotta panels featuring ancient Jataka stories highlight the interdependence of humans and nature, reinforcing the pavilion’s thematic and sustainable design approach
